Job Description


Are you a designated accounting professional looking to work with a well-established real estate company that has been servicing BC for over 40 years with a focus on building better communities and improving lives? Our client is looking to add a designated Accounting Manager to their growing team, this is an in-office position based out of their head office in Kitsilano.

Reporting to the Controller the Accounting Manager will assist in the daily operations of the Accounting Department, participate with monthly and yearly internal and external financial reporting, as well as assist with various special projects.

The position holds growth potential as the accounting team and company are expanding.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, annual and financial statements for operating companies on a consolidated and non-consolidated basis.
  • Reviews monthly project commissions billings
  • Reviews accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger entries for accuracy
  • Ensures accounts payable and receivables are processed in a timely manner.
  • Performs and reviews monthly bank and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Prepares adjusting journal entries at month-end and year-end.
  • Reviews and/or prepares working papers and schedules at year-end for external auditors.
  • Assists in the preparation of forecasts/budgets and perform variance analysis.
  • Ensures compliance with local, provincial and federal government reporting requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Leadership.

Requirements

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor\'s degree or diploma in Accounting.
  • Professional accounting designation CPA
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in full cycle accounting and financial reporting; experience in real estate is an asset.
  • Minimum 1 year of management experience desirable

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating team members.
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality and professionalism at all time.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and experience with Sage 300 software is preferred.
