Position Summary:The Accounting Manager will work alongside the Regional Director of Finance, and will be responsible for preparing the monthly financial statements and all aspects of full cycle accounting including but not limited to budget preparation, AP/AR, variance analysis, event settlements, reconciliations of accounts, and payroll.This role pays an annual salary of $90,000-$100,000 CAD.Benefits for Full-Time roles: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, Pension matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).This position will remain open until August 15, 2025.
About the Venue:Based out of Torontoxe2x80x99s Mattamy Athletic Centre, and reporting to the Regional Director of Finance, The Manager, Finance will be responsible for the financial reporting of The Hangar at Downsview Park, and The Saint John Trade and Convention Centre. The Hangar at Downsview Park is a multipurpose sports and entertainment facility located in North York, ON that is home to many soccer organizations and large-scale events of up to 40,000 people. The Saint John Trade and Convention Centre is located in Saint John, NB, and consists of 23,000 square feet of meeting space and hosts over 100 events annually. Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all general accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and facility rental revenue recognition.
• Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Canadian accounting standards.
• Monitor accounts receivable and assist other departments with follow up of overdue balances.
• Assist with budget preparation and monthly variance analysis.
• Reconcile bank statements and prepare bank deposits as necessary.
• Record all business transactions, process accruals and adjustments, reconcile accounts and prepare monthly financial statements.
• Monitor accounts payable to ensure that purchases and expenditures are within budget and in accordance with Oak View Group policies.
• Keep abreast of federal, provincial and municipal developments, and any laws or policies that may affect the financial operation of the organization.
• Complete fiscal year-end adjustments.
• Prepare for and participate in annual financial statement audits.
• Event invoicing and liaising with the events team to record deposits/settlements.
• Ability to oversee and implement Oak View Group policies and amend policies where necessary.
• Some travel to Saint John will be required.
• This is an in-office position based out of The Mattamy Athletic Centre in downtown Toronto.

Qualifications:

• Possession of a CPA designation is preferred; working towards a CPA designation a minimum
• Minimum of 2 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in Financial Management, or related field.
• Working experience in the venue or event management industry preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of HST and payroll deduction requirements.
• Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills that promote mutually beneficial, respectful and professional relationships.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral, with all levels of an organization.
• Ability to adapt to and learn new software.
• Experience with Net Suite, Coupa and ADP preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.
• High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons or facts.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Available to work evenings and weekends as necessary based on events schedules.
• Deadline driven and able to complete financial reports on a timely basis.
• Superior organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
• Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
• Attention to details in all areas of work.
