Our client, a Canadian-owned, real estate development firm, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their finance team.

This role will be a site-based role at one of their premier resort properties located in Chilliwack, BC.

The Accounting Manager will report directly to the SVP of Finance in the Vancouver head office.

As the Accounting Manager:

• You will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department from supervising, mentoring, and coaching.
• Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce accurate and timely financial reports and statements \xe2\x80\x93 Monthly, and annual financial reports and statements
• Analyze financial statements and reports to assist the executive team in better business decision-making - modeling business propositions, and summarizing data, information, and trends.
• Calculating and filing monthly and periodic sales tax.
• Ensures compliance with local and federal government requirements.
• Liaise with our Business Controller to present recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
• Coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
• Create and prepare financial forecasts and annual budgets, interpreting variance analysis.

Experience required:

• 5-7 years as an accounting manager
• AR & AP experience
• Cash management
• Good understanding of corporate taxation governance practices
