Job #4962 - We are currently recruiting an Accounting Coordinator for our client, a well-established construction company known for its quality and integrity. This full-time, permanent role supports project and service-related financial operations through a mix of accounting and administrative responsibilities. Working closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and external consultants, the Accounting Coordinator helps ensure accurate cost tracking, timely invoices, and compliance with contract requirements across construction projects. The ideal candidate is steady, competent, and highly organized, with strong communication skills and a practical, down-to-earth approach. Trustworthy and reliable, they are comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and consistency. Reporting to the Controller and Project Managers, your main responsibilities include:
  • Handle incoming and outgoing invoices, making sure costs align with contracts and project work
  • Prepare client billings, track payments, and follow up on outstanding accounts
  • Keep accurate financial records for multiple projects and service work
  • Support contract requirements, including documentation, compliance, and audit requests
  • Provide day-to-day financial and administrative support to project, service, and management teams

Qualifications
The main qualifications for this role include:
  • Certification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of job costing, progress billing, and construction contracts
  • Proficiency with accounting and project management software
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Construction/real estate, project accounting experience is an asset
  • Experience with Sage 100 is an asset
