Accounting Contractor
Dartmouth, NS or Remote in NB or PEI

Our client, East Coast Credit Union, is Nova Scotia's largest credit union redefining what it means to bank local. We are thrilled to partner with them as we look to bring an accounting professional to their team for a 6-month term!
Responsibilities will include:

• Review and sign off on internal bank accounts and GL reconciliations.
• Reconcile GL accounts, including problem solving and correcting errors.
• Investigate teller outages, including providing procedure changes to branches to minimize errors in future.
• Provide support to Accounts Payable, including reviewing and posting invoices when needed.
• Provide support to month-end financial statement preparation.
• Provide support for the Audit, including providing reports and responding to questions and requests.
• Ownership of Chart of Accounts clean up and aligning three entities in accounting and banking systems.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Accounting/business diploma/certificate or a minimum of 3 years' experience in an accounting setting.
• Experience with year-end audits will be considered an asset.
• Strong organization and problem-solving skills. Can demonstrate a time where they were able to find a discrepancy, investigate and correct the errors.
• Work independently but also be part of a fully remote team.
• Experience with QBO considered an asset.
• Ability to multi-task and effectively communicate in the remote environment.
