Job Description

Robert Half is looking to hire an Accounting Clerk for a well respected organization in the financial services industry. In this role, you will be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), and general data entry. This is a long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity based in the Toronto, Ontario area.

Your responsibilities in this role

- Post financial information to journals and ledgers

- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance

- Overall accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

- Mend discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

- Compose statements and reports that require utilization of a wide collection of sources

- Support Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing

- Assemble documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes
- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

- Experience with high volume data entry

- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience preferred

- Comprehensive knowledge of billing

- Ability to multitask, collaborate and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds in a fast-paced environment
