Job Opportunity
We are currently seeking a dynamic, adaptable, and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team. This role is ideal for someone with a broad range of dealership accounting capabilities, particularly within Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Controller and accounting team, supporting day-to-day dealership accounting operations across multiple departments. While the role is primarily AR and AP focused, it also offers exposure to various areas of dealership accounting, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a well-rounded skill set within the automotive industry.
This position is well suited for an individual who is hands-on, flexible, and eager to grow within dealership accounting, with opportunities for continued learning and career progression.
Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including posting, reconciliation, and follow-up on outstanding items

• Compile, verify, and maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation

• Deposit all incoming dealership funds and reconcile related transactions

• Post and maintain licensing schedules

• Post and verify vehicle costs in CDK and OneEighty and or Deskit.

• Post deals for new, used, and wholesale vehicle transactions

• Manage external warranty schedules, reviews, and payment submissions

• Process OEM rebates and manufacturer submissions

• Assist with payroll records maintenance and related general ledger entries

• Communicate with internal departments to resolve accounting inquiries and discrepancies

• Support month-end processes and assist with preparation of financial statements and reporting as required

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of accounting experience in a dealership.

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.

• Working knowledge of CDK is a must.

• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and data management skills.

• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
