Job Description

This is a 3-month contract starting July 2, 2025 through the end of September with a possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:



Accounts Payable (AP)



Assist with reviewing and processing vendor invoices. Enter invoice data into the accounting system. Help prepare weekly payment runs. Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices. Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and resolve discrepancies.

Accounts Receivable (AR)



Support the creation and distribution of customer invoices. Apply incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts. Assist in monitoring aging reports and sending payment reminders. Address customer billing questions professionally and promptly.

Administrative Accounting & General Support



Reconcile bank account daily, clearing all previous day cleared deposits and cashed cheques Review, reconcile and clear vehicle inventory balance sheet schedules on a daily basis Maintain accurate and organized digital files Assist with account reconciliations and month-end tasks as needed. Post New Vehicle invoices and process stocking in units when they arrive Reconcile New Vehicle books twice a month Reconcile monthly extended warranty, insurance and other business office products and process payment to relevant providers of these products Gain knowledge of all aspects of payroll and be able to provide back up for payroll functions Provide assistance and general support to Dealership Controller & accounting team

Requirements



BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) or BCom (Bachelor of Commerce) or equivalent qualification Solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and theory Proven knowledge and application of accrual based accounting principles and journal entries related to job responsibility Willing to upgrade through professional development courses to keep current with changing accounting standards Proven ability to establish work priorities and to work in a high volume, detailed environment Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in all matters Ability to recognize and protect confidential and privileged information using discretion and tact when communicating Ability to research subjects related to job responsibilities that include internet searches, telephone calls, or consulting with external peer or subject matter experts Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including situational and mathematical Must reside in the Greater Vancouver area in British Columbia as this is an in-office role Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and a basic understanding of accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) Combined three years' experience in each functional area of accounts receivable and accounts payable, ideally in the vehicle sales industry Good organizational skills and attention to detail Strong communication and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team
