The Accounting Clerk III key purpose is to provide financial support services related to accounting procedures, standards and practices. Responsible for supporting AP activities, the ideal candidate will have experience with AP processes and systems and can effectively communicate. We are looking for an accountable team member that can prioritize incoming requests with the right sense of urgency.

You\'re an organized problem solver with a passion for process. You\'re comfortable with numbers and financial systems and you have a solid understanding of accounts payable. As a key member of our finance team, you will help us run a smooth day-to-day AP operation.

Here\'s how

  • You will work closely with other members of the accounts payable team to ensure accounts and payment processes are managed according to corporate standards
  • Verify and/or monitor charges (i.e. budget, invoices, discounts, reports, etc.); investigate anomalies or discrepancies; perform calculations.
  • Receive, review, and examine source documents/information; compile data from various sources; investigate issues, document as required, correct and balance/reconcile to source or refer to others for correction; input journal entries as required.
  • Compile, create, run and/or verify data/documents such as reports/files, summaries, remittance forms, spreadsheets, expense forms, schedules, etc.; reconcile and/or process adjustment entries; stop payments as required; follow up.
  • Initiate, verify and/or prepare external documents such as remittance forms, invoices and government forms, etc.
  • Arrange for payment or receipt of payment or related accounts.
  • Maintain files/records; assist with system testing as required.
  • Explain and/or discuss details of variances, discrepancies, anomalies and corrections, etc.
  • Respond to queries to provide assistance and/or explanation on procedures and source documents, etc.
  • To verify/reconcile data and identify discrepancies, resolve or initiating corrective action within required timelines.
What you bring
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of Accounts Payable and Logistics modules of SAP and their integration.
  • Working knowledge of SAP workflow and invoice exception procedures.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Accounts Payable e-tools - i.e. - e-invoice, e-commerce, ERS.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Canadian and Provincial Tax Laws.
  • Working knowledge of Personal Computer business software (eg. Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of accounting principles & procedures.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively compile information, analyze data & make sound judgements.
  • Must possess Personal Computer navigational skills.
  • Demonstrated professional oral and written communications skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Self-motivated, work well with minimal or no direct supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaboratively with other departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems and situations, take appropriate action, implement solutions or escalate as required.
  • Maintain a high level of performance under the pressure of time constraints and a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability in planning and organizing to meet scheduled deadlines.
