The Opportunity: Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Accounting Clerk at our Head Office, located at 10 Prairie Way in Winnipeg, MB. This position reports to the Finance Manager. The Accounting Clerk adds value to our Co-operative by matching and analyzing inventory purchases to vendor invoices, investigating any discrepancies. Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Reconcile daily sales transactions and sales reports to ensure accuracy and appropriate coding.
  • Maintain and update various excel reports.
  • Review daily petroleum reports to ensure it is in accordance with Company policy and guidelines.
  • Matching and analyzing inventory purchases to vendor invoices, investigating any discrepancies.
  • Provide outstanding internal and external customer service.
  • Assist with special projects related to continuous improvement and process improvements to the organization for further efficiency growth.
  • Assist with other accounting and administration duties as needed or required.
A full responsibility list will be provided to candidates selected for interviews. About You: To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
  • You have basic to intermediate accounting knowledge would be considered an asset.
  • You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with an attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines.
  • You possess strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • You are a proactive, forward-thinking individual who has the ability to multi task and has excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
