Job Description

Robert Half has an opening in a department for an Accounting Clerk. The Accounting Clerk will mainly be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry, and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a long-term contract / temporary position located in the Guelph, Ontario area.

What you get to do every day

- Reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

- Produce statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources

- Support Accounts Receivable: apply cash receipt, help with collection of past due balance, and process daily invoices/credit

- Support Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing

- Code documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes

- Submit financial figures to journals and ledgers

- Standard accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
- Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)

- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred

- Skilled in Spreadsheet and ERP system

- Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request

- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

- 2+ years of relevant experience

- Accurate, swift, data entry abilities
