Job Description

Expand your career in the food & food processing industry as an Accounting Clerk for a highly-reputable company Robert Half is currently considering candidates for. The primary tasks of the Accounting Clerk will be assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, and general forms of data entry. This fulfilling team oriented environment offers you a hands-on experience that will lead to career advancement, a great work space/office, and challenging responsibilities. This is a short-term contract / temporary position based in the Cambridge, Ontario area.

Your responsibilities in this role

- Order documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes

- Upload financial information to journals and ledgers

- Overall accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

- Compose statements and reports that require utilization of a wide collection of sources

- Assist Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance

- Work with Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing

- Mend discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
- Prior knowledge in Spreadsheet and ERP system

- Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds

- Proficiency in account reconciliation

- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience desired

- Expertise in credit analysis

- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

- Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
