Accounting Clerk \xe2\x80\x93 Hospitality, Food & Beverage Georgian Communities is currently seeking an Accounting Clerk to oversee the Hospitality and Food and Beverage accounting. REPORTS TO VP, Finance ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Update and maintain financial records, prepare reports and reconcile bank statements and credit cards.
Utilize accounting software programs, such QuickBooks, Tee-On, Touch Bistro, to process accounts payable and receivables, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts.
Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements.
Ensure accounts are reconciled accurately and in a timely manner.
Data entry of financial transactions.
Provide assistance and support to hospitality team.
Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
Compile reports/summaries on activity areas and report findings to management on a weekly basis.
Develop and ensure compliance of internal financial controls.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable Clerk (https://resources.workable.com/accounts-receivable-clerk-job-description) or Accounts Payable Clerk (https://resources.workable.com/accounts-payable-clerk-job-description)
Familiarity with bookkeeping (https://resources.workable.com/bookkeeper-job-description) and basic accounting procedures
Competency in MS Office, and accounting software
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks.
Data entry and word processing skills
Well organized
Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Successful reference and background check.
