The Opportunity
We are a growing team looking for a motivated, reliable, and curious junior team member who wants to build a foundation in accounting through hands-on, real-world experience.
We are hiring an
Accounting & Bookkeeping Associate (Entry Level)
to support day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, and tax-related work.
This role is offered as a full-time contract position. Training will be provided in accounting processes, bookkeeping software, and tax program support. Prior accounting or Quickbooks experience is considered an asset but is not required.
For the right candidate, there may be an opportunity to extend the contract or transition to a permanent role, based on performance, team fit, and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
With training and ongoing support, you will assist with:
Bookkeeping & Accounting Support
Recording daily, weekly, and monthly transactions
Assisting with expense tracking, invoice processing, and vendor payments
Supporting bank and credit card reconciliations
Maintaining organized accounting records and documentation
Assisting with month-end accounting tasks as assigned
Accounts Payable & Administrative Support
Assisting with invoice processing and payment requests
Verifying vendor information and helping resolve discrepancies
Supporting expense claims and petty cash tracking where applicable
Tax & Compliance Support (Training Provided)
Assisting with preparation of personal and corporate tax files
Organizing supporting documents for tax filings
Supporting CRA-related requests and internal compliance processes
Learning bookkeeping and tax software used by the firm
General Support
Working closely with senior accounting staff and management
Assisting with ad-hoc accounting and administrative tasks
Learning internal processes across multiple related businesses
What We're Looking For
Required
Exposure to accounting or business concepts (e.g., accounting courses, business diploma/degree, coop, internship, or junior role)* Comfort using Microsoft Suite applications, especially Excel (basic formulas, spreadsheets, organization)
Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and willingness to learn
Reliable, organized, and professional work attitude
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Assets (Not Required)
Experience with QuickBooks or other bookkeeping software
Prior accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related experience
Experience with CCH iFirm or other tax software
Familiarity with tax concepts or prior tax support experience
Accounting or business degree/diploma
What We Offer
Salary range: $40,000 - $50,000, based on experience
