We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to join our team at TRAPA's Richmond Head Office. This is a key role within our Accounting team, responsible for managing the timely and accurate processing of payables, supporting cash flow management, and ensuring the integrity of financial records.
Our current AP Clerk will be relocating and resigning from the position, so this is a direct replacement. We are looking for someone who can step into a well-defined role and contribute from the outset. Preparation of payment runs (EFT, cheques, wires)
Monitoring AP aging and managing payment schedules
Communicating professionally with vendors, internal colleagues, and management
Assisting with accounts receivable (AR) processes as needed
Supporting month-end close activities and year-end audit requirements
Maintaining organized AP records and documentation in compliance with company standards
Candidate Profile:
Accounting background strongly preferred (diploma, degree, or equivalent work experience)
Understanding of AP and AR processes is required
Completion of an AP course is considered a strong asset
Proficient with Excel and general accounting software; experience with our current ERP system will be taught
Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written) - must be able to clearly communicate with colleagues, vendors, and articulate issues to the Financial Manager
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage workload and priorities independently
Proactive, professional, and team-oriented mindset
Working Environment:
This is a stable and well-supported AP role within a growing and dynamic company. The successful candidate will be walking into a well-established process and supported by an experienced Accounting team, including our Financial Manager whom this position will report directly to.
