Our client in Edmonton is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support their team in a long-term contract position. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, small-team environment and contributing to efficient accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Reconcile credit card statements and allocate incoming payments
- Prepare vendor payments (cheques, mail, online renewals)
- Generate reports in Sage 300 and assist with invoice follow-ups
- Maintain accurate vendor and financial records
- Support general office duties, including courier and package handling
- Assist the Accounting Manager with backlog management and workflow improvements
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, including AP and AR
- Proficiency in Sage 300 and advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage high volumes and meet deadlines
- Experience with reconciliations, payment processing, and ERP systems
- Organized, communicative, and able to work effectively in a small team
