Our client in Edmonton is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support their team in a long-term contract position. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, small-team environment and contributing to efficient accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Reconcile credit card statements and allocate incoming payments
  • Prepare vendor payments (cheques, mail, online renewals)
  • Generate reports in Sage 300 and assist with invoice follow-ups
  • Maintain accurate vendor and financial records
  • Support general office duties, including courier and package handling
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with backlog management and workflow improvements
Requirements:
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, including AP and AR
  • Proficiency in Sage 300 and advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage high volumes and meet deadlines
  • Experience with reconciliations, payment processing, and ERP systems
  • Organized, communicative, and able to work effectively in a small team
