Job Description
:
Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant to join their team on a contract basis in Edmonton. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations in a healthcare environment and is ideal for someone with strong AP/AR experience and excellent attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and code accounts payable invoices (Sage 300 experience an asset)
- Manage vendor billing, inquiries, and statement reconciliations
- Prepare employee expense claims and monthly credit card reconciliations
- Handle cheque runs, electronic payments, deposits, and credit card processing
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Support year-end audits and assist with special projects as needed
Requirements:
- 3+ years of accounting experience with a focus on AP/AR
- Experience with Sage 300 or similar accounting software
- Working knowledge of Excel for data entry and reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and professional vendor communication skills
- Experience processing invoices, payments, and employee expenses
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial recordkeeping
