Torcan Lift Equipment is seeking to hire a full time accounting and payroll administrator. Our team is looking for a driven, independent, and knowledgeable individual who is ready to grow and excel in their career!
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the accounting and payroll administrator is responsible for disbursing accounts payable to the company's vendors and paying the company's employees. The accounting and payroll administrator will work closely with the accounts payable clerk.
The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills and an understanding of accounting principles. Hourly wage will be determine based on the candidates experience.
Responsibilities:
Banking functions - entering EFT payments, bank reconciliation
Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
Matching vendor invoices to purchase orders.
Reconciling A/P subledger to vendor statements.
Processing and reconciling credit card transactions.
Preparing schedules for cheque, EFT, wire and credit card payment.
Preparing schedules detailing expenses.
Preparing schedules of employee expense reimbursements.
Assist with the daily, month-end and year-end closing processes.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the company's accounting software.
Respond to inquiries from vendors.
Maintaining employee information in the time clock and payroll applications.
Entering bi-weekly employee time records into the payroll application.
Calculating and processing bi-weekly payroll.
Perform other office duties as required.
Provide support to other members of the accounting and finance team as needed.
Provide support to other members of the rentals, service and training teams as needed.
Qualifications:
Post secondary degree in accounting or business administration is preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
