Accountant

Westville, NS, CA, Canada

Job Description

Now Hiring: Accountant | Company Controller (Hybrid Remote - Pictou County)

Aqua Production Systems (APS) is a fast-growing Atlantic Canadian manufacturing company with projects across Canada and the U.S. We're already an industry leader in our field and currently on track to exceed eight figures in revenue this year. As we continue to grow, we're focused on strengthening our financial systems and building the internal structure to support the scale of our operations.

We're genuinely excited to be hiring a full-time accountant. While all candidates are encouraged to apply, priority will be given to applicants from Pictou County. It matters to us that we support our local community.

This is a hybrid remote position, with most work done from home but one to two days a week in our office and availability for in-person meetings as needed. This is a new position, so we're looking for someone who doesn't just "do the books." Because it's a new role, you'll also need to be comfortable rolling up your sleeves in the early stages -- yes, even keying in receipts -- until you decide what tools, systems, and operational supports make sense. We need a sharp, experienced professional who can build the accounting function from the ground up and shape how financial management works across our operations -- and we're willing to pay top dollar for it. You'll be supporting a manufacturing business with significant Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), project-based financials, and cross-border complexity. That means we need someone who can confidently manage the day-to-day accounting while also designing the systems that make it all run smoothly.

We care about what you can do, but we care just as much about how you work. The right person for this role will share our values of integrity, innovation, simplicity, education, and ownership of results. You'll fit in well here if you're kind, proactive, and driven, with a sense of humour that can lighten a long day. Everyone on our team pitches in, takes responsibility, and finds ways to make things work -- no one hides behind "that's not my job."

If you're an experienced, entrepreneurial-minded accountant who enjoys building systems, solving problems, and being part of a high-performing team that's only getting stronger, we'd love to hear from you.
