We are looking for a hands-on Accountant to join our team!

A Day in the Life:

In this flexible role, you will work in our modern corporate offices located 2 minutes off of the 99 Freeway in South Surrey. You will take the wheel by being responsible for maintaining organizational efficiency of office operations, including overseeing all accounting functions such as billing, payables, bank reconciliations, banking, financial analysis, taxation and more. Junior public company experience is an asset. You will share your skillsets between a portfolio of 2-4 related companies, including Trillion Energy operating in the resource sector. You will become an integral part of our team.

About You

You are an experienced accountant and bookkeeper, can easily pick up new skills, and have strong technical skills. You are natural self-starter who is committed to quality technical work and delivering high-level results. You are good at finding creative solutions to improve and grow the business operations. Your meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving skills sets you apart from your peers. You bring enthusiasm, excellent communication skills and an ability to connect with others quickly and positively influence culture. You have previous experience in a public practice firm, stock experience, and or resource sector experience this is a bonus!

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Perform finance and full-cycle accounting activities; bookkeeping in QuickBooks, billing, expense reports, collections, reconciliation, payables, GST, corporate tax matter.
  • Oversee foreign exchange and capital transactions, options and warrants.
  • Prepare working papers for audit and year-end.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports in addition to short- and long-term cash flow analysis and annual budgets.
  • Perform financial analysis.
  • Prepare and initiate payroll for all employees on a bi-weekly basis, reconcile payroll accounts, and timesheet tracking and data entry.
  • Provide additional support with administrative needs.
  • Provide support with business projects and initiatives.
  • Complete regulatory forms and submissions.
  • Managing full-cycle accounting and administration for 2-4 businesses.
Your Qualifications

You possess strong technical accounting knowledge and are comfortable learning new skills, systems and technology. You are willing to 'roll up your sleeves' and get the work done. Your qualifications include:
  • 3+ years of full cycle accounting experience in a dynamic accounting firm using QuickBooks.
  • Working towards or completed your CPA would be considered an asset but not required.
  • Strong skills and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks and proficient in Excel.
  • Strong organization skills and an ability to self-direct daily accounting activities.
  • Technically versed in MS Office with an emphasis on Outlook, Excel, Teams, Zoom etc.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, as needed.
  • Ability to think creatively, take initiative, and solve problems.
  • Confident and assertive with strong ability to shift priorities based on business needs.
  • Ability to successfully produce quality work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
