We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our Finance team. This role plays a key part in supporting the preparation and distribution of financial reports, both actuals and budgets, while ensuring accuracy and compliance across all accounting functions. Responsibilities




Lead the development, analysis, reporting, and interpretation of financial and operating information in terms of profitability and performance.
Work with department managers and staff to better understand their operations financial and operating performance; budgeting, forecasts, and actuals
General ledger responsibilities (including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and suggestions for improvement)
Review and reconcile various balance sheet accounts monthly
On occasion, assist the payroll accountant with various payroll functions and reporting
Assist with preparation of year-end audit working papers and spreadsheets
Complete government reporting and surveys
Assist with establishing procedures for safeguarding assets, including security and computer backup
Work with the Finance Supervisor and Director of Finance to maintain policy and procedure documentation for financial and accounting issues
Current knowledge of regulatory changes that might impact Castle

Qualifications




Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills; able to build and maintain lasting relationships with all team members
Finance or accounting certificate and 1-2 years of experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
General understanding of computerized accounting systems including Sage 300 and point of sale systems
Excellent working knowledge of MS Office
Accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines
Excellent communication skills with ability to clearly communicate issues to all team members
Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts
Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
