About The Role:



The Accountant will lead the financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance efforts for the company, ensuring that all accounting practices meet both internal and regulatory standards. This role is critical for maintaining financial transparency and driving sound decision-making based on accurate data.

Responsibilities:



Oversee all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and cost accounting. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial standards. Prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership, including balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and cash flow statements. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and auditing processes. Lead and mentor the accounting team to maintain efficient and accurate financial processes. Prepare, review, and file personal and corporate tax returns (T1, T2) Prepare and file GST filings Perform minor bookkeeping and account reconciliations for small business clients (primarily QuickBooks) Prepare financial statements and compilations for Notice to Reader engagements Assist with CRA correspondence and client inquiries Support year-end and tax season workflow

Job Requirements:



CPA designation is not required. CMA, CGA, CPA Students are welcomed Minimum 5 years' experience in Canadian public accounting firm practice Strong understanding of Canadian tax (T1 & T2) and accounting standards Proficient in CaseWare, QuickBooks Online, Profile, and Microsoft Outlook & Excel Strong attention to detail, time management, and client communication skills Ability to work within engagement budgets and deadlines Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies
