SUMMARY

The Account Security Manager will partner with the Account Director for Security, the Account Security Team and the entire BGIS team to help ensure the safety and security of our Infrastructure Ontario (IO) clients, facilities, BGIS Team Members and the general public. They will help ensure compliance with all relevant account security policies and procedures, and support in engaging with private sector security services, police, and other security-related agencies.

The successful candidate will oversee all day-to-day security screening operations through the supervision of two security specialists, and in partnership with client agencies.

The successful candidate will also partner with other BGIS Team Members to lead, build, and expand the contract\'s Threat and Risk Assessment (TRA) program for select buildings in the IO building portfolio.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety Ownership and Regulatory Compliance
  • Comply with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and mandated by BGIS Health Safety and Environment Teams and enforced by law.
People Leadership

Demonstrates strong, competent leadership for team members to guide them in reaching their full potential and meeting their objectives, which supports achievement of our corporate goals. Specifically, these responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Full involvement with recruiting talent.
  • Provides mentoring, coaching and guidance to all team members.
  • Objectively recommends compensation adjustments.
  • Manages all aspects of performance.
Security Screening
  • Supervise and support two security experts dedicated to providing relevant account clearances for BGIS employees and contractors assigned to the IO account.
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers on security clearance related issues, including; providing briefings on the process; monitoring compliance; and flagging any potential delays or challenges on the vendor side to senior management.
  • Provide guidance and direction as to the analysis of unclear results and engage stakeholders in risk assessments on potential hires (as required).
  • Maintain appropriate tracking tools and dashboards to ensure the Director is fully apprised of the status of the screening program.
Threat and Risk Assessments / Documentation
  • Ensure compliance with account requirements as it relates to conducting Threat and Risk Assessments (TRAs) on select client buildings.
  • This work may include:
  • Providing direction and guidance to on-site facility personnel to complete pre-determined checklists.
  • Reviewing and analyzing checklist results to ensure compliance with client requirements and statements of work.
  • Conducting TRAs themselves when required.
  • Ensure other security-related documentation required under the Statement of Work is regularly reviewed and updated.
Security and Event Management
  • Support the Account Director for Security in the following areas:
  • Liaison and engagement with security guard companies, including ensuring post orders and related documentation are in place and updated.
  • Liaison and engagement with law enforcement, first responders and security agencies on a proactive basis to ensure the safety and security of our clients, employees and the general public.
  • Following up on security-related incidents reported to the Security Team for resolution.
  • Providing briefings and presentations to account management, client leadership and/or the BGIS Global Chief Security Officer (CSO) as required (note: the Security Team reports into the Senior Director - Shared Support Services, with a dotted reporting line into the BGIS Global CSO).
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Strong working knowledge of security issues from a security standpoint; both government / police and corporate experience would be considered an asset (seven to ten years of experience).
  • Experience interpreting security clauses in contracts or policies and implementing them in ways that move a program forward or enhances client experiences.
  • Ability to travel on short notice to support account requirements.
  • Mid-level people management experience (five years in a management role).
  • Familiarity with Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Familiarity with security screening processes and protocols; familiarity with Ontario Government clearances would be an asset.
  • Experience providing written reports and oral presentations to leadership.
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset.
  • A recognized industry certification (CPP, PCI, etc.) or security-related training is considered an asset.
