Account Manager – Field Sales

Calgary, AB, Canada

Job Description

Are you passionate about pets and skilled at building strong business relationships? Our client is expanding their sales team and looking for an Account Manager located in Calgary to take ownership of the Alberta and Prairie provinces.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a wide-open territory with significant growth potential and make a lasting impact in a fast-growing industry.
In this role, you'll be the face of our brand across Alberta and the Prairies, driving sales and building relationships with retail partners. You'll work independently, traveling within your territory to expand product presence, support retailers, and identify new opportunities. If you're confident, energetic, and love working with people (and pets!), this could be the perfect fit.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow retail accounts across Alberta and the Prairie provinces.
  • Build strong partnerships with store managers and staff, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Expand brand visibility through merchandising, promotions, training, and in-store execution.
  • Prospect and open new accounts to capture untapped market opportunities.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies that align with company goals.
  • Negotiate promotional programs, placement, and advertising agreements.
  • Represent the brand at tradeshows and industry events (occasional weekends required).
  • Work independently while keeping detailed records of sales activity and results.
What We're Looking For
  • 3-5 years of sales experience, ideally in consumer packaged goods (CPG).
  • Background with a manufacturer rep is preferred (vs. distributor sales).
  • Strong existing relationships with retailers are a big advantage.
  • Confident, independent, and highly personable with excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable working remotely and managing a large, independent territory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Diploma or degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is an asset.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and passport, with a willingness to travel.
