Job Description



Account Executive
The Account Executive is responsible for driving new business revenue through the sale of LexisNexis products, services and content within assigned accounts or territory.
Accountability:

  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals
  • Strong hunting and consultative sales skills
  • Develop detailed strategic sales plans to demonstrate how to grow business within assigned territory
  • Identifies, qualifies, and develops a pipeline of viable opportunities and effectively manages the new business development prospects, including timely follow up of all leads and advancing leads through selling process to close
  • Provides accurate forecasts, customer, competitive and market intelligence to management and business leadership
  • Understands and demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of LexisNexis products, content and solutions including the ability to articulate competitive differences and our value proposition
  • Ability to identify and communicate effectively with executives or other high-level officials within a customer’s organization
  • Collaborate with other LexisNexis sales team members to secure new business; provide input in conjunction with team on development of Marketing plans and programs to maximize goals.
  • Analyze market research to evaluate ongoing product/market requirements and drive new business;
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the field through participation in professional development and educational programs;
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years’ experience generating new business sales
  • 3+ years’ of consultative sales
  • 3+ years of developing sales strategy

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • New business sales experience, preferably in B2B environment in technical field or SaaS
  • Self-driven, motivated and results oriented with new business sales (or hunter) mentality
  • New business prospecting, selling, negotiating and closing skills
  • Ability to quickly develop an in-depth understanding of LexisNexis products and solutions and how they apply to our customers' needs;
  • Understanding and use of Strategic Selling techniques and CRM systems
  • Legal industry knowledge is preferred.
