LOCATION: TORONTO (HYBRID)

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an Account Director with strong experience and passion for Experiential Marketing to lead our portfolio of tier-1 accounts.

The Account Director will be responsible for leading the development of integrated marketing campaigns for our clients and working closely with our internal teams (Strategy, Creative, Design, Studio, Production, etc.) to bring it all to life. The Account Director is the general manager of their portfolio, growing their business and ensuring that programs are delivered with excellence, on time, and within budget. The Account Director will oversee all aspects of the campaign \xe2\x80\x93 inclusive of: Critical Path/Workback Schedule, Client Communication, Team Leadership, Vendor Management, and Internal Process.

The Account Director will lead and manage a team of 4-6 people.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Relations

  • Develop comprehensive understanding of the client\xe2\x80\x99s business strategy, objectives &. brands
  • Help clients solve their business problems with strategic and creative marketing solutions.
  • Ability to lead development of client programs, including project & IMC management
  • Understand where there may be organic opportunities for business development & growth within client\xe2\x80\x99s business; work to create and implement a plan to sell incremental programs and services
Management
  • Manage and lead direct reports to provide best in class account, creative & production management
  • Manage all external stakeholders pertinent to the portfolio, including but not limited to: suppliers, partners, clients, agencies, contractors
  • Brief in and set objectives for integrated teams within Salt i.e. Creative, Design, Media, Studio
  • Create collaborative working relationships and maintain effective + efficient ways of working within specialty and IMC teams
  • Work with Salt senior leadership team to assess and determine requirements for new hires as needed
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback and support with setting and driving your teams personal and professional goals
Financial
  • Responsibility for the portfolio P+L, working closely with your team and finance to maintain a profitable business
  • Ability to build small and large program budgets, that drive business profitability
  • Train account team to build small and large budgets, that drive business profitability
  • Ability to reconcile budgets of all sizes, working both independently, with your team and with finance
  • Ultimately responsible for all programs within the portfolio being delivered on time and on budget
  • Solid understanding of how the business makes money, where there are gaps that needs to be filled, creating and implementing. A plan to support with filling revenue and profit gaps
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
  • Minimum 7 years of experience working at a marketing agency with focus on experiential (XM).
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills
  • Proven project management & production experience
  • Understanding of agency budgeting and reporting requirements
  • Proven strategic thinker
  • Natural people person with. exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Confident and experienced with presentation skills
  • Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee, and deliver against, a large P+L
  • Passion for managing clients and managing a team
  • GREAT attitude, adaptable & calm under pressure (the nature of our industry is ever-changing and fast-paced, and requires someone who can maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic in this dynamic environment
