Salary: FT Support Payband I (Start $39.34 xe2x80x93 Max $45.59)About the Student Success and Engagement Department at Humber:The Department of Student Success & Engagement (SSE) supports studentsxe2x80x99 active participation in experiential initiatives, promotes student health, wellness and inclusivity, and offers a variety of educational and career-related support services to help current Humber students, recent graduates and newcomers to Canada achieve their academic and personal goals. SSE also supports our local communities by providing opportunities to build capacity and share resources.SSE is comprised of Athletics and Recreation, Student Events, Student Wellness and Equity, and Transition and Academic Support.About the Accessible Learning Coordinator Role:The Accessible Learning Coordinator (ALC) acts as an integral collaborator within the team of Accessible Learning Servicesxe2x80x99 staff being a conduit to information about our services through email or telephone enquiry from learners, parents, external providers, faculty and campus partners. The role is responsible for co-ordination and facilitation of third-party/external accommodation provision (e.g., Educational Assistants, Captioners, and ASL interpreters) including those specific to our, Deaf, deafened, hard of hearing, blind, visually impaired learners at Humber and the University of Guelph-Humber. The ALC provides guidance in the selection of funding options and assists in the completion and case management of applications to obtain resources/tools supporting academic access through the BSWD or other funding sources. The incumbents work collaboratively to foster conditions which empower and support equitable access to the learning environment by planning and coordinating promotional events/activities related to outreach efforts to our learners who identify as having a disability including transition programs, leading apprenticeship learner support, and ensuring seamless integration across the department to promote learner development and potential for academic success. The ALC supports the operation by maintaining electronic confidential records of all departmental activities, updating forms, reviewing workflows for efficiency, managing legal requests of learner files, as well as required reporting.
