If you can relate, we want to hear from you! Our Rail Corridor Access & Control (RCAC) Office is looking for a Access Planning Communications & Investigations Manager to join our team. This role will be is responsible for developing and tracking Key Performance Indictors (KPI) against negative trend reporting, participating in accident and incident investigations related to work block rule violations incidents and track protection incidents within the Rail Corridor and managing the internal audit procedures and reporting process. Solutioning out recommendations for improvements. What will I be doing?

  • Monitor and report on the team’s progress with investigations against targets and key performance indicators
  • Develop and manage the RCAC action tracker based on KPI continuous improvement. Overseeing leading and lagging KPIs to solution out recommendations for improvement and communicating to applicable stakeholders.
  • Manages the development and implementation of communication strategies to support construction, rail division and employee engagement pertaining to Rail Corridor Access planning, KPI and incident trending.
  • Identifies and conducts analyses of data to interpret trends and patterns in complex data sets which contributes to the development and implementation of improvements, efficiencies, savings and cost avoidance in service delivery, business and operational processes.
  • Develops and delivers Executive Incident Briefings, in coordination with affected Senior Management stakeholders to identify known information, immediate safety actions taken and establish ongoing follow-up activities in response to significant Construction and Capital Project activities pertaining to rail corridor positive protection work block incidents.
  • Provide ongoing oversight and review of completed draft final investigation reports to validate supporting evidence has been captured and can be demonstrated, fulsome consultation for the analysis of information has been completed and that findings as to causes and contributing factors, findings as to risk and other findings are adequately and appropriately identified in alignment with the Transportation Safety Board Integrated Safety Investigation Methodology.
  • Monitors progress on completion of corrective actions and implementation of recommendations resulting from incident investigations and audits and monitor trending patterns.
  • Manage the RCAC MySafety investigation action items as well as the proposed solutions identified through negative trends.
  • Participate in rail corridor workblock accident and incident investigations pertaining to rule violations and track protection provider incidents – overseeing corrective action plans and track the trends.
  • Directly manage a team of Access Investigation Officers – identifying potential project interface issues and methods for improving rail corridor access to reduce trend patterns, a team of Access Planning Analysts tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPI) against negative trend reporting and a Senior Access Planning Communication Officer communicating the trend reporting and processes, and communicating corrective action plans
