Job Description

Snowball Studios is a vibrant animation studio with studios in Toronto, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem. Snowball has produced hundreds of minutes of top quality, 3D animation and visual effects for film, tv, computer games, commercials and mobile, which are aired all over the world.

Snowball Studios Toronto is now home to more than 150 employees in a brand-new studio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for creating shots and sequences that dictate the action, timing, character movement and camera placement
• Follow instructions as per the notes and discussions at each stage of the storyboard process
• Ensure storyboards align with the creative goals and vision of the 3D animation project
• Use knowledge of traditional animation to ensure that posing, staging, and cutting is both dynamic and producible
• Execute the corrections requested by showing an analytic mind
• Maintain the schedule and quotas given by the Line Producer or Production Coordinator
• Assist and participate actively at meetings
• Complete other related tasks as necessary and as asked for by management
• Pitch storyboards to the creative teams to convey the story
• Produce storyboard panels for a specific sequence/ episode as outlined by the production schedule and deliver on-time

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of proven storyboard experience for production level series animation is required
• Being an Ontario resident is an asset
• Understanding of 3D pipeline
• Excellent drawing and composition skills
• A fresh, creative, and collaborative attitude towards storytelling
• Solid knowledge of story, including, acting, dialogue, and use of camera
• Must be able to work quickly and efficiently
• Must work digitally
• Understanding of Maya is an asset

Special Requirements:

• Must be flexible at times for afterhours/weekend functions/duties.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada as specified and, where applicable, must have a valid work permit that allows the candidate to fulfill the requirements of the role.
