Position: Librarian Assistant

$29.33 - 35.04 /HR - 35 Hours per Week

Location: Naughton, ON

POSITION SCOPE:

Under the supervision of the Director of Education, the Librarian Assistant will assist with reference services and work with patrons to identify and locate appropriate reference material in the library and from external library sources. In addition, the librarian assistant will be scheduled to ensure evening programming is available.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

2-year post-secondary diploma in business administration and or equivalent experience Experience in a library environment an asset Criminal reference check with Vulnerable Sector Check annually Experience with library cataloging systems (JASI) Experience with Ontario library services is an asset First Aid & CPR with AED Certification Knowledge and Skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible to open and operate library according to approved library hours, Repair damaged books Teach patrons how to use the collection catalogue and find resources, Provide book selection, delivery and pick up services to homebound patrons Enter new items into the system, Maintain print, electronic, and digital collections that are catalogued and summarized in the JASI lending system,
