We are looking for responsible and dedicated Summer 2025 Day camp Team Leader /Site supervisors for our Streetsville location. Supervisors will oversee one location only. As a Team Leader you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the camp including the physical site , the councilors and campers. This is a leadership role that requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills and a hands-on problem-solving mindset.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Duties would include leading a group of up to 12 counselors' in assisting their campers in their daily camp activities including: crafts, STEM, Lego robotics and baking. This is a dual role that depending on registration may also require the Team Leader to lead a group.
Team Leaders will also supervise counselors and kids in outdoor play activities and on a Field Trip outing that includes supervising bus transportation.
Additionally as the camp leader you are the face of the camp to parents/guardians daily. Team Leaders will communicate daily with parents at sign in/sign out or by phone as required to communicate issues, progress and victories
Additional responsibilities include keeping the facility clean, organized and functional daily.
Counselors report to ownership of the Camp Director
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
Supervisors will be responsible for daily camp operations & supervision of councilors for their location with a goal of a safe, smooth and positive day for the kids.
Lead & coach the councilor team through material preparation, core activities, transition between activities, camper and counselor lunch breaks, outside play periods, and cleaning regimens.
Supervise and lead a safe, timely and thorough check in/check outs including accurate record keeping.
Provide consistent leadership to the group daily with a encouraging and positive tone
Ability to coach and teach councilor team on positive conflict resolution strategies and offer solutions directly if needed
Safely and effectively supervise the councilor groups on field trip outings once a week. Includes safe bus loading/travel/unloading and group movement at the site and accounting for the group size and safety. Directly manage specific
Supervisors must be able to deal with all situations that arise and should be comfortable speaking with children, councilor's and parents as required.
Fill in and lead or assist with a group when staff is short or absent or needs assistance to complete their roles.
Successful Applicants qualifications :
Should be available for the entire camp period Monday to June 30 to August 29, 2025 for assigned hours
Must have a current police vulnerable sector in place by the start of camp
Must have a valid First Aid/CPR level C certificate in place by the start of camp
Should have completed at least 2 year of university or college studies. Do not apply if you are in High School
Should make available 2 references with email and phone contacts if requested
Mandatory paid staff training days prior to Camp
Minimum 1 year of previous camp experience or similar experience with kids an asset Past experience as a Camp Supervisor will be prioritized
Prefer year 3 or higher in College/University (or graduated)
Prefer Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field preferred
Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices preferred
Must attend the paid training day

7 to 8 hour shift Daily estimated. Expected hours :40 per week
