Overview

Award winning Block Kitchen + Bar is looking for a dedicated and passionate 1st Cook/CDP to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a restaurant setting and a strong understanding of food handling and safety practices. As 1st Cook, you will play a vital role in meal preparation and food service, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards of quality and taste as well as maintaining the cleanliness and food safety standards as determined by kitchen management.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to established recipes and standards. Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations. Assist with inventory management, including ordering and restocking supplies as needed. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during meal service. Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process, making adjustments as necessary. Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness and safety to the standards of kitchen management.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is essential. Knowledge of food handling, preparation, and safety practices is essential. Familiarity with various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Previous management experience is a asset, but not required. A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals for customers.

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
