Position Summary
Muskoka Bay Resort is seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The 1st Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to recipes and standards set by Muskoka Bay Resort. This role requires someone with a strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety regulations, and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals to our customers.

Duties & Responsibilities
May act as lead cook on line in preparing meals to order in a timely fashion.
Maintain care of equipment using preventative maintenance techniques.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work area at all times using proper food handling and storage procedures.
In conjunction with the Chef and Sous Chef, review menu cycles and check supplies needed for all meals and special events
Uphold high quality menu options that meet and exceed expectations
Must be available to work all shifts
Practice hygienic food-handling, preparation and serving techniques.
Prepare a variety of goods and items needed for special events.
Oversee second cooks and dishwashers to ensure team is working together.
Ensure that all prep work and products are lined up for upcoming production.
Complete food tracking worksheets when necessary.
Maintain commitment to excellence in carrying out production responsibilities.
Work with Sous Chef and Chef in supervising, receiving all goods and their proper storage.
Organize coolers daily ensuring all items are wrapped, labeled and dated.

Qualifications
Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or food service establishment.
Knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety regulations, and kitchen equipment operation.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Culinary degree or certification is a plus, but not required.
Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
Passion for food and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences to customers.
