ABOUT THE POSITION



Are you a master of organization with a passion for policy, people, and precision? The Town of Fox Creek is looking for a detail-savvy powerhouse to join our team as a Legislative Clerk! This dynamic role puts you at the intersection of governance and human resources--where you'll not only manage Council operations, legal documents, and FOIP coordination, but also take the lead on HR functions that help shape our workplace culture. From grant administration to cemetery services (yes, it's a diverse portfolio!), you'll be the go-to for keeping things compliant, confidential, and running like clockwork. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?



May be required to adhere to processes and policies in support of Municipal goals and legislative requirements.

ensure compliance with the Municipal Government Act and related legislation. maintain current knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and policies. research, draft, review, and track bylaws, policies, contracts, agreements, and legal documents. provide Commission for Oaths services. update governance-related content on the Town's website. support FOIP coordination and compliance. liaise with Council, staff, external agencies, businesses, and the public on administrative and policy matters. administer and license cemetery services, including coordination with funeral homes and families. assist with HR functions such as recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management. advise Council, CAO, and Directors on technical, procedural, and policy matters. research, write, and manage grant applications and oversee compliance for awarded grants. contribute to the development and review of municipal procedures across departments. provide updates on legislative and statutory changes. assist with the municipal census as needed provide coverage for the role of Executive Assistant when absent Other duties as assigned

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?



Minimum Requirements

have completed a post-secondary program, or work experience in a related field provide a clean Criminal Record Check provide a Provincial Drivers Abstract Report be proficient in Microsoft Office applications have experience with privacy legislation and records management
Additional Requirements

have applicable a post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree in Public Administration or a related field have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a municipal work environment have a valid Class 5 Driver's License have experience working for a municipality build, foster, and sustain a positive public image

WHAT DO WE OFFER?



WHEN WILL YOU BE WORKING?

Permanent Full Time

35 hours/week

Monday to Thursday - 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm

Some evenings and weekends as required
