Duties and Responsibilities:





Reporting to the Director of Financial and Registration Services, the Accounts Receivable Clerk plays a key role in managing the University's accounts receivable, including collection actions when necessary. Key responsibilities of this position include providing customer service to students, faculty, staff and community members by responding to inquiries related to tuition, housing and other charges on account. The Accounts Receivable clerk is responsible for overseeing student aid accounts and required reporting, including loan disbursements, and handling scholarships, tuition waivers, and third-party/sponsored student invoicing. They are also responsible for generating monthly statements, tracking payments, managing payment plans and monitoring staff advances and other non-student accounts. Additional duties include providing backup support for other Finance positions, answering the University switchboard, along with other related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications and Experience:





The successful candidate must possess a 2- or 3-year post-secondary diploma, with preference given to those holding an Accounting or Finance-related diploma. Three (3) years of related Accounts Receivable or Accounting experience is required. A comparable combination of education and experience may be considered.



The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, with strong communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and has excellent time management skills. They must demonstrate initiative, and possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate requires a demonstrated ability to work with numerous interruptions and to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders; is a proven team player; is highly motivated; works well with minimal supervision; and provides excellent customer service. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Understanding Third-party billing, Student Aid and Scholarship processes is an asset.

NOTE


This is a full-time 3-year term position. Skill based testing will be required.
