About the role
Manage and review daily HSE production reports.
Analyze HSE/ENV reports and take the necessary corrective measures.
Ensure work in the zone complies with safety rules and environmental standards.
Actively promote Davie's OHS culture within the team.
Ensure compartments are accurate and closed in accordance with company quality requirements.
Approve production-related documents (work instructions, non-compliance reports, etc.).
Meet SPI and CPI performance indicators and monitor quality deviations.
Actively participate in continuous improvement by identifying deviations and implementing solutions.
Establish and respect the workforce budget for the zone and ensure rigorous monitoring.
Plan daily tasks to ensure scheduled production is carried out.
Manage and adjust the schedule in response to unforeseen events to optimize production.
Coordinate and monitor CAR/1379 forms for your zone.
Validate the materials and equipment required for production and ensure the accuracy of work orders.
Collaborate with the Ship Manager to develop action plans to efficiently carry out production tasks.
Communicate the action plans to the foreman in charge and monitor their implementation.
Organize and lead meetings with follow-up actions, including a weekly meeting with stakeholders.
Ensure collaboration and manage conflicts in the zone, in coordination with the foreman.
Work collaboratively with other departments and internal stakeholders (Projects, Planning, etc.)
Attend review meetings led by management, at the request of the Production Director.
Maintain direct contact with the Ship Manager, the project team, as well as the Quality Control, HR, HSE/ENV, and Subcontracting Departments.
Participate in weekly coordination meetings to ensure alignment between production and the project.
Manage scope changes, delays, failures, and additional costs within your zone.
Ensure the flow of information and coordination of actions within your zone.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in a relevant field.
Experience in the maritime industry.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in personnel management.
Experience in a unionized environment.
Knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Intermediate level of English (both written and spoken). This level of English is required for this position as the incumbent will be required to interact with English?speaking suppliers.
Experience in project management, an asset.
Successful completion of the investigation and security clearance process required by the federal government's Contract Security Program.
