Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate, creative and dedicated individuals to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and engaging with children and young adults with complex needs. Your primary focus will be to create a safe and nurturing environment that fosters personal growth, social skills, and educational development. Responsibilities



Provide guidance and support to children and young adults in various settings, including educational programs and community activities. Provide care and programming for children and youth in the care of the Minister of Community Services or Mi'kmaw Family & Children's Services, with moderate to severe emotional and trauma Foster positive relationships with youth, encouraging their participation in group activities and discussions. Educate youth about life skills, social interactions, and personal development. Maintain accurate records of progress and participate in regular evaluations of program effectiveness. Being part of a team that provides a caring and safe environment for children and youth who may require assistance with self regulation, conflict resolution and developing skills needed for healthy relationships.

Requirements



Experience working with children or young adults. Completion of a 2 year diploma (Child & Youth Care Worker, Social Services, ECE) from a provincially approved post-secondary institution or a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with youth and collaborate with team members. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young people from diverse backgrounds. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail. A commitment to creating an inclusive environment that respects the dignity of all individuals. Candidates MUST be able to provide proof of the following before hiring can be completed: required diplomas/degrees clear Police Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector) clear Child Abuse Registry Check valid Driver's License clear Driver's Abstract A personal vehicle you can use for work with $2,000,000 third-party liability coverage Standard First Aid/CPR certification Food Safety of Food Handler's certificate
