- Maintain a social and emotional climate within the alternative home that is therapeutically oriented and follows the clients\xe2\x80\x99 treatment goals to include communicating with the client in a respectful and professional manner exhibiting empathy and understanding.
- Assist youth/child in identifying attainable short and long-term goals, strategies for meeting these goals, and an action plan for implementation.
- Address serious behavior, mental health, emotional, and addiction struggles through counselling, implementing special covenant, defusing/managing critical incidents, supportive relationships, and referrals to your supervisor to aid in other programs and or community service providers.
- Exercise good judgment in making quick decisions if required to act in a crisis.

- A Bachelors Degree
- Criminal Record check with vulnerable sector screening, Social Development Check and drivers abstract.
- Valid driver\'s license
- Training in First Aid, Suicide intervention, non-violent crisis intervention etc. will be considered an asset.
