Split Rock is a non-profit, community-based organization funded by both Provincial and Federal government departments. We are seeking a motivated, community-minded individual to join our team as a Youth Outreach Worker. The Youth Outreach Worker will deliver supportive, relationship-based services to Youth aged 16 - 24 years old as outlined by the Provincial Youth Outreach Program standards and guidelines. The Youth Outreach Worker will meet Youth where they are, and actively encourage Youth to take the lead on addressing their mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical needs. Outreach services will adjust to accommodate the readiness and developmental abilities of Youth, creating safe spaces, and opportunities for positive peer engagement. The Youth Outreach Worker will help to build and maintain collaborative relationships within the community, create social supports and provide experiences for healthy development and a sense of belonging. The outreach program will support Youth to have a vision for their future while skill-building, encouraging decision making, and celebrating successes along the way.

The successful applicant will be self-aware, confident, adaptable, patient, reliable, and compassionate. Will work independently and as part of a team.

The role requires travel within the Town of Yarmouth & the Tri-County communities, access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license is necessary. Office hours are Monday to Friday, scheduled Outreach programming will require flexibility to include some evenings and weekends for programming as necessary.

Undergraduate Degree or diploma in social sciences is preferred. Equivalent combination of training and community-based experience will be considered an asset. Knowledge and understanding of Youth and Youth development including the impacts of trauma on youth development.

The role requires a clear Criminal Record Check.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $52,000.00 per year
