The Opportunity:




Reporting to the Youth Hubs Coordinator, the Youth Hub Worker plays a key front-line role in delivering prevention-focused programming across MFRC's youth hubs and partner school sites. This position is responsible for supporting consistent, high-quality program delivery, relationship-building with youth, and strong participation during peak after-school and evening hours.


A significant component of this role involves evaluation and data collection, supporting MFRC's commitment to evidence-based practice and funder reporting. The Youth Hub Worker will also support the broader Youth Team with cross-initiative programming, outreach, and special projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:



Create and deliver of structured and unstructured youth programming within MFRC youth hubs and partner school settings that align with ongoing and new youth hub funding. Build trusting, supportive relationships with youth through consistent presence, mentorship, and informal check-ins. Facilitate or co-facilitate activities focused on recreation, wellness, life skills, leadership, and crime prevention. Co-create programs and initiatives , engagement, and behaviour management using trauma-informed and de-escalation approaches with team members. Collect and track attendance, participant feedback, surveys, and other evaluation tools required for reporting. Assist with program setup, materials, and coordination for hub- and school-based programming. Support positive relationships with youth, school staff, community partners, and residents. Contribute to broader Youth Team initiatives, including outreach, special events, and cross-program collaboration. Maintain clear communication regarding program needs, youth concerns, and site operations. Adhere to MFRC policies related to safety, confidentiality, and youth protection. ###

Qualifications & Skills:



Post-secondary education or ongoing studies in Child & Youth Care, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field. Minimum 1-2 years of experience working directly with youth in community or school-based settings (paid or volunteer). Experience supporting program evaluation, data collection, or outcome tracking is a strong asset. Strong understanding of issues impacting youth in Scarborough, including systemic barriers, mental health, and community safety. Ability to engage youth from diverse backgrounds and build rapport in group and one-on-one settings. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly related to documentation and evaluation. Comfortable working independently while collaborating within a team environment. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with data tracking or client registration systems. CPR/First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain. Evening availability required; occasional weekend shifts may be required for events. Full G license and access to a vehicle is an asset. ###

Terms of Employment:



Salary:

$43,000-47,000

Benefits:

100% employer-paid benefits, three weeks of paid vacation, three personal days, sick days (after probation), and additional paid time off over the holiday break.

Hours: Full-time contract position, evening and weekend availability required

Contract Term: 1 year with possibility of extension based on performance
