About the Position:
As a Youth Outreach Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring that youth accessing Youth Hub Youth Outreach will receive the appropriate assessment and supports to obtain suitable referrals for housing and system navigation. Your work will be guided by housing first, family first and harm reduction philosophies as well as being participant-focused and strengths based.
This is a term position, ending September 4, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
:
Outreach services to community based homeless youth and crisis sheltered youth ages 12-24 years of age.
Provide system navigation support to youth and their families.
Provide support for at risk youth and their families to promote family reunification.
Provide support for appropriate housing and/or rehousing of individuals as required.
Demonstrate knowledge of a wide variety of intervention strategies and skill building resources.
Actively and effectively advocate for the needs of the participants in your programs using a strength-based, trauma informed and harm reduction approach.
Willing to work a flexible schedule. The typical schedule is Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm but will vary based on the needs of the program and participants.
Benefits:
Hourly rate: $22.49 - $26.31 per hour, based on education and experience.

Requirements & Qualifications:
Degree/Diploma in Social Work, Child and Youth Care Counselling, Addictions Counselling or related human services field. A combination of experience and education may be considered.
Minimum one (1) year of experience working with youth and families.
Minimum one (1) year experience working in outreach.
Detailed knowledge of community resources for participants
Experience working with mental health, addictions, homelessness.
Strengths in crisis intervention, case management, communication and administrative skills are a must.
Clear Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector and Child Intervention Check dated within the past six months,
Clear Driver's Abstract, valid Class 5 Driver's License, daily use of reliable vehicle and minimum $2M vehicle insurance to carry passengers.
Standard First Aid CPR Level C Certificate.
