Opportunity Place, a Nova Scotia Works Employment Services Centre, provides access to high quality, inclusive employment services for employers and job seekers in Bedford/Sackville and area. We provide one-on-one support, workshop facilitation, employment assessments, case management, job development, employer engagement and employment maintenance services.

We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and experienced Youth Facilitator and Program Coordinator. will work cohesively within a team of employment services professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and delivery of both in-house and outreach services to our clients; will be highly dynamic, organized and detail oriented, with outstanding people skills, highly adaptable.

Job Responsibilities:



Program Development & Facilitation



Design and deliver engaging, youth-centred workshops on:

Identifying Strengths Career Exploration Pre-employment & Employability Skills Goal Setting & Leadership Community Engagement & Life Skills Mental Health and Well-being Exploring Education Pathways Digital Literacy & Financial Literacy Adapt workshops to diverse learning styles and accessibility needs

Participant Support & Coaching



Provide individualized mentorship and motivational support Support youth in goal setting, action planning, and barrier reduction Guide youth throughout their work placements, providing check-ins, coaching, and conflict resolution support Conduct follow-up to ensure retention and development post-placement

Employer & Community Engagement



Develop and maintain partnerships with local employers and community mentors Match participants to meaningful, supportive work placements Coordinate and facilitate inclusive workplace training for employers Organize and supervise off-site tours, guest speakers, and community learning opportunities

Recruitment, Outreach & Promotion



Lead marketing and recruitment efforts for program promotion Develop engaging promotional materials (social media, print, etc.) Host information sessions and liaise with community organizations to identify potential participants

Program Tracking, Reporting & Administration



Track all program activities, participation, and outcomes using internal tracking tools Maintain accurate records of participant progress and project deliverables Prepare and submit all required reports aligned with funding agreement timelines Ensure activities meet funding deliverables and program benchmarks Create final evaluation reports and feedback surveys for continuous improvement

Qualifications:



Preference will be given to individuals with a bachelor's degree/post-secondary education in Sociology, Psychology

Education, Human Services or Human Resources, or equivalent education and work experience Several years' experience in: Education or Career development and employment support services Youth programs, mentorship, or community engagement Must have significant demonstrated experience in developing and facilitating learning group activities, workshops for youth Strong knowledge of: Social, community, and economic issues affecting marginalized youth, Employment trends, labour market information, and training resources Proficiency in: MS Office 365, social media, virtual platforms (Zoom/Teams), Canva or other marketing tools Proficiency in: MS Office 365, social media, virtual platforms (Zoom/Teams), Canva or other marketing tools Knowledge of community organizations, service providers, and referral agencies Experience working with persons from diverse background with varying barriers to employment. Valid Nova Scotia Driver's license and access to reliable transportation is required Must have a clear Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Record Check
