The Guelph Soccer Club is the largest youth sport organization in Guelph, Ontario, proudly serving over 6,000 passionate soccer players annually. Established in 1966, the Club is a non-profit organization that offers indoor and outdoor soccer programs for youth and adults.

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION



As a key member of the Guelph Soccer technical team, the Youth Development Manager will work closely with the Technical Director to implement the Club's technical plan with an emphasis on player and coach development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



This role will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Player and Coach Development (70%)

Work directly with coaches and players among our Grassroots and Youth cohorts specifically targeting the advanced development of Under 10 - Under 16 players by:
o designing training sessions

o implementing periodization models

o creating age and stage appropriate development objectives

o game model development per age consideration

o management of the grassroots coach development resources

o implementing a yearly training plan

o creating tactical manuals

Work directly with the Technical Director to oversee the player and team development of both Pre-Academy teams at the Under 13 level in preparation for Academy graduation Oversee Guelph Soccer's Junior Gryphon Soccer School Program Work alongside other staff to ensure the delivery of skill development program objectives, and ensure program support Periodically provide winter league and summer league support for specific teams Utilize Guelph Soccer analytics platforms to assist with game review sessions to enhance player development. Actively participate in the training environment by leading select sessions, providing support, providing mentorship, guidance and feedback to coaches when scheduled Conduct field setup and session preparation to ensure that players are developing in accordance with the age group objectives and developmental outcomes Ensure on-site safety of participants Work cooperatively with other coaches, club officials, and any other volunteers. Attend coach development sessions as required Lead Guelph Soccer's player feedback, individual reporting, individual player objectives, and individual development planning for all Guelph Soccer athletes among the desired targeted age cohorts Complete a yearly development plan alongside Guelph Soccer Technical Director. Other duties as assigned and required by the Technical Director Attend select Soccer For Life games during the indoor and outdoor seasons and provide individual and/or team reports when necessary Assist in the delivery of Guelph Soccer's residency camps and pre-academy camps
Administrative Responsibilities (30%)

Provide monthly updates and participate in standing technical meetings Participate in the coach selection process, and team evaluation process Assist in the development and tracking of all staff and coach certifications and development Assist with any player registration issues, and/or uniform orders associated with any Soccer for Life players Coordinate feedback meetings, and deliver individual development plans for select players. Assist in the development of an at-home development model across Guelph Soccer. Deliver exceptional customer service to all participants. Support and liaise with all Guelph Soccer staff and volunteers on a variety of tasks as needed and other duties as assigned by GS Technical Director Assist in the implementation of the Soccer For Life tryout process, Pre-Academy tryout process, and assist in the Guelph Soccer identification window as needed to ensure program support through third party independent assessment Create a monthly Soccer For Life report outlining key successes, growth moments, areas for future growth, coach development and overall interactions observed throughout the reporting date Produce an annual Soccer For Life report outlining retention rates, new players welcomed into the program, and perform a yearly comparative for key metric analysis Build on the Club's coach recruitment strategies by outlining additional opportunities, areas of needed growth with an emphasis on women in sport initiatives, BIPOC initiatives, and young coaches initiative

QUALIFICATIONS



University Degree or College Diploma in Sport Management, Recreation and Leisure or related education Candidates must possess a minimum Canada Soccer C License or equivalent certification. Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a youth soccer club Experience using VEO, HUDL, and Coach Paint would be considered an asset Leadership skills, mentoring ability and program development Organization skills and the ability to effectively manage resources Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficient computer skills Ability to work effectively with volunteer coaches, technical staff and office staff Must clear a criminal record check and vulnerable sector search Must be willing to work non-traditional hours that will include some evenings and weekends

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
