LOVE BC (Leave Out Violence BC) is a youth-driven organization with over 20 years of experience supporting underserved youth through violence prevention, skill-building, and creative expression. We offer weekly youth-centered programs, including art, games, self-defense, meals, and individualized support. Across the Lower Mainland, LOVE BC also delivers hundreds of workshops focused on social-emotional learning, social justice, and awareness.
Role Overview
We are seeking a
Youth Coordinator
to lead the delivery of our programs, workshops and partnerships. This is a leadership-oriented role for someone who is proactive, independent, and excited to build relationships that strengthen our impact across Vancouver.
Key Responsibilities
School Program Delivery & Team Coordination (50%)
Lead coordination and delivery of LOVE BC's in-school programs with a team of 8 facilitators, ensuring sessions run smoothly, safely, and reflect LOVE BC's values of empowerment, inclusivity, and equity.
Oversee program logistics including scheduling, communication with schools, materials preparation, attendance tracking, and follow-up.
Support facilitators through check-ins, debriefs, and mentorship to maintain program quality and staff well-being.
Assist with onboarding and orientation of new facilitators.
Workshop Design & Delivery (30%)
Design and deliver engaging, arts-based workshops using creative activities, games, and movement to explore topics such as violence prevention, healthy relationships, mental health, and social justice.
Adapt workshop content to meet the needs and dynamics of diverse youth groups and environments.
Co-develop and pilot new workshops, incorporating youth feedback and emerging topics.
Ensure workshops integrate LOVE BC's trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches.
Manage workshop logistics including materials, timing, and documentation of attendance and outcomes.
Partnerships & Development (20%)
Build and maintain relationships with youth-serving organizations, and community partners to strengthen program reach and collaboration.
Conduct proactive outreach to secure workshop bookings.
Represent LOVE BC at community meetings, school events, and partnership gatherings to enhance visibility and impact.
Qualifications
5+ years of relevant experience in facilitation, partnership development or community development.
Proven experience designing and delivering workshops.
Strong communication and logistical skills to support a team of facilitators.
Understanding of anti-oppression and trauma-informed frameworks.
Ability to work independently and proactively.
A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is a strong asset, as the role involves traveling to schools, community sites, and events across the Lower Mainland.
