Southeast Collegiate is the only school of its kind in all of Canada. It serves as a campus to First Nations students during the school year - educating students in a beautiful school facility and providing housing in the adjoining lodge.

Overview
We are currently accepting applications for our Male and Female Youth Care Leader teams for the shift listed below. Our Youth Care Leaders (YCLs) are responsible for the safety and well-being of our students. YCLs play a crucial role in supporting students away from home. Responsibilities include constant student monitoring, communication with staff, parent/visitor interactions, and shift-specific duties (cleaning, organizing, administration, etc.). Cleaning duties are essential.

Male Positions Available

2 Scheduled FT Position

• Friday - Tuesday: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Friday - Tuesday 7:00 pm - 3:00 AM

Female Positions Available

• Saturday - Wednesday: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sunday - Thursday: 7:00 PM - 3:00 AM
• Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM including Monday-Wednesday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

NOTE: •These positions are laid off for the summer months after June 21, 2025. SEC will recall Lodge staff at the end of August 2025 for the 2025-2026 school year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (required)
• At least one (1) year experience working with youth (preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively under stress
• Basic computer skills (MS word/Excel)
• Experience working with First Nations Youth (high school)
• Ability to speak a first nation language (Ojibwe, Cree, Oji-Cree) (asset)
• Willing to be certified in First Aid/CPR
• Must obtain Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry (recent as of 2 years)
