Position Overview:

We're hiring a

Youth Basketball Coach

for a

4-week Saturday skills program

running in

Victoria from May 24 to June 28

. You will lead small-group sessions focused on shooting, footwork, ball handling, and basketball IQ for athletes ranging from

Grade 1 to Grade 9

. This is a great opportunity for coaches looking to gain experience, grow with an organization, and move into expanded roles. Coaches who excel may be invited to join our

fall programs and travel team coaching staff

.

Session Dates:

May 24 May 31 June 14 June 28

Key Responsibilities:

Lead structured, high-energy basketball training sessions Build a fun, safe, and inclusive environment for youth athletes Adapt coaching to different skill levels and age groups (Grades 1-9) Communicate effectively with players, parents, and fellow coaches Represent the Flight Basketball values on and off the court

Qualifications:

Prior coaching or playing experience (youth level preferred) Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and teaching techniques Enthusiastic, reliable, and professional coaching demeanor Availability for all Saturday sessions CPR/First Aid certification (preferred) Must pass a Criminal Record Check

Compensation:

$18-$24 per hour

, based on experience and coaching stage
