We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Yoga Teacher to join our wellness team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of yoga principles, be skilled in various yoga practices, and possess the ability to guide students of all levels through their yoga journey. The Yoga Teacher will be responsible for planning and leading yoga classes, creating a welcoming and safe environment, and promoting holistic health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Class Instruction:
- Plan, prepare, and conduct yoga classes for students of all skill levels.
- Demonstrate and guide students through various yoga poses and sequences.
- Adjust students' posture and technique to ensure proper alignment and prevent injuries.
- Class Management:
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for all participants.
- Manage class schedules and maintain punctuality.
- Provide clear instructions and modifications to accommodate different fitness levels and abilities.
- Student Engagement:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students.
- Offer personalized guidance and support to help students achieve their wellness goals.
- Encourage and motivate students to explore and deepen their practice.
- Professional Development:
- Stay current with yoga trends, techniques, and best practices.
- Attend workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills.
- Maintain certification and participate in continuing education opportunities.
- Studio Maintenance:
- Ensure the yoga studio is clean, organized, and well-maintained.
- Manage and care for yoga props and equipment.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the studio management.
Qualifications:
- Education and Certification:
- Certified Yoga Instructor (200-hour or 500-hour certification) from a recognized yoga school.
- CPR/AED certification (preferred).
- Experience:
- Previous experience teaching yoga classes, preferably in a studio or fitness center setting.
- Experience with various yoga styles (e.g., Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Iyengar).
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create and adapt yoga sequences for different levels and abilities.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and the principles of yoga.
- Compassionate, patient, and motivational teaching style.
