Position: Shop and Yard Administrator (12-Month Contract)
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized
Shop and Yard Administrator
to support daily operations in our shop and yard. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth workflow by managing administrative tasks, coordinating equipment rentals and logistics, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate equipment and tooling rentals, including issuing purchase orders and maintaining the rental tracker.
Arrange deliveries and pickups of tools and equipment with approved trucking companies, and maintain daily email tracking.
Create pick lists based on trucking requests.
Track company assets on a daily basis.
Administer and organize company documents such as invoices, purchase orders, timesheets, work orders, and reports.
Ensure all documentation is organized, approved, and filed correctly.
Perform data entry to maintain accurate records.
Provide general administrative support including filing, scanning, faxing, and photocopying.
Process purchase order (PO) releases and verify approvals for orders over $500.
Confirm pricing accuracy against quotes and conduct comparative price checks from multiple sources.
Follow up with suppliers as required.
Process hourly employee payroll on a daily basis.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
