Working Manager

wanted for a progressive ranch near Sangudo Alberta.

Meunier Livestock Ltd is a large, diversified, family run organization with feedlot, cropping, and cow/calf enterprises and a direct to consumer meat business located near Barrhead AB. We are seeking an independent, hardworking individual to become the Working Manager for our ranching division near Sangudo AB. Looking for a person who enjoys working outside with cattle on intensively managed ranch land. The Working Manager will be a forward thinking self-starter who is open to new ideas and willing to work in all areas of the ranch.

Duties of the Working Manager:

Management of intensive summer and winter grazing operation for cow/calf and yearlings

Pasture calving 1200+ cows

Herd health care for both grazing and feedlot animals

Maintenance and construction of fence

Operation and implementation of water pipelines

Movement and maintenance of portable water and fence systems

Record keeping related to grazing and health of animals

Supervision of seasonal staff

Operation and maintenance of farm equipment

Assist in all areas of the operation as needed depending on the season

Competencies of the Working Manager:

Self-starter capable of making daily decisions without owner input

Adaptable to change and willingness to be flexible in changing working environment

Communicate clearly with owners, staff and outside parties

Familiarity with livestock and farm machinery

Interest in agriculture

Requirements:

Ability to work individually and within teams

Ability to work long and flexible hours

Valid class 5 drivers license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
