Responsibilities
:
Direct Lead Hands and Labourers, and perform the following tasks to a high standard of quality & efficiency: Demolition & Cleanup, Concrete Work, Framing, Insulation & Drywall, Painting & Staining, Tile & Flooring, Trim & Doors, Exterior Finishes (windows, siding, roofing, soffit, fascia), Landscaping
Complete tasks in a timely manner, above industry standards.
Manage the skilled labour on job sites to ensure productivity & efficiency
Teach & mentor Lead Hand and Labourers in construction related skills
Approve timecards for all Lead Hand and Labourers
Communicate daily expectations and goals effectively with all team members
Provide leadership, guidance, and feedback to Trainees as they learn and practice skills on site.
Provide guidance to Lead Hands and Labourers in their role as Trainers
Responsible for maintaining the highest standards of workplace health and safety and supervising the safe practices of the team in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
Communicate with clients in a polite and courteous manner as necessary or when asked by your Supervisor
Work with trades and subcontractors to accomplish project goals
Attend company meetings as required
Participate in ongoing Training & Development initiatives
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Qualifications
Minimum five years of experience in the field of residential construction
Minimum one year as a Lead Hand or Foreman
Must have steel toe boots and hard hat
Must own all their own hand tools and basic power tools
Must have valid G Class driver's license and own reliable transportation
Positive attitude and a great work ethic
Strong time management skills
Ability to take instruction as well as instruct others
Responsible, motivated and interested in learning new skills
Can work comfortably in a team or independently
Precision work without close supervision
Ability to recognize potential problems; report and address them in a timely fashion
Working at Heights, WHMIS, and First Aid certification assets but not required
An understanding of social housing, homelessness, or social justice interest an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
